Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Turntable is a fully automatic, belt-drive record player with Bluetooth transmission, built for people who want vinyl playback without the usual adjustment and component matching. It suits first-time buyers, casual listeners and smaller rooms where simple wiring matters.

This is the Bluetooth version of the AT-LP60X family, not the wired-only AT-LP60X or the separate AT-LP60XBT-USB variant. Its main appeal is convenience: press a button, let the arm cue and return itself, and listen through powered speakers, an amplifier, Bluetooth headphones or a compatible wireless speaker.

It is not intended as a serious upgrade platform. Buyers who want cartridge swapping, adjustable tracking force, anti-skate control or a more revealing hi-fi deck should look further up the range.

The AT-LP60XBT is compact and light, with a plastic plinth, aluminium platter, hinged dust cover and a fixed cartridge built into the headshell and tonearm assembly. At 2.6 kg, it is easy to place on a shelf or small unit, though the lightweight construction is more practical than premium.

Audio-Technica’s design includes a redesigned tonearm base and headshell compared with earlier LP60-family models, along with an anti-resonance aluminium platter. The external power supply keeps voltage conversion outside the main chassis, which is a sensible design choice at this level.

Controls are arranged for straightforward use rather than manual tweaking. You select the record size, choose 33-1/3 or 45 RPM, and use the automatic start/stop controls or the cueing lever for manual cueing.

The fixed tonearm and cartridge reduce setup decisions, but they also define the turntable’s ceiling. The stylus can be replaced, but the cartridge is not a standard half-inch mount for normal user upgrades.

The headline feature is fully automatic operation. Once the record size and speed are set, the tonearm can move into position, play the record and return at the end, which is useful for beginners or anyone nervous about handling a stylus.

Bluetooth 5.0 transmission allows the turntable to send audio to compatible Bluetooth speakers, headphones or receivers. The manual lists SBC and aptX support, so users with aptX-compatible receiving equipment may benefit, although Bluetooth still depends on pairing behaviour, range and the receiving device.

A switchable built-in phono preamp makes the AT-LP60XBT easy to integrate. Set it to LINE for powered speakers, soundbars or amplifier line inputs, or to PHONO if connecting to a dedicated phono input.

The integrated VM/Dual Moving Magnet cartridge and replaceable stylus keep maintenance simple. The standard model covered here does not specify USB output, so buyers wanting recording to a computer should look for the separate AT-LP60XBT-USB version.

Setup is deliberately simple, though not completely assembly-free. The user fits the platter, loops the belt over the motor pulley, places the felt mat, connects the power supply and chooses PHONO or LINE depending on the connected equipment.

The manual also instructs users to rotate the platter by hand after fitting the belt to settle the mechanism. Bluetooth users then put their speaker, receiver or headphones into pairing mode and connect the turntable as the transmitter.

Everyday use is straightforward: choose 12-inch or 7-inch record size, select 33 or 45 RPM, place the record and press Start. Manual cueing is available via the tonearm lift, but the product is clearly designed to minimise handling.

Day-to-day performance is centred on ease rather than adjustability. The automatic mechanism, speed selector and size selector make normal 12-inch LPs and 7-inch singles simple to play, with less risk of mishandling than a fully manual turntable.

The specifications list a DC servo-controlled belt-drive motor, wow and flutter below 0.25% WTD at 3 kHz, and a signal-to-noise ratio above 50 dB DIN-B. Those figures place it firmly in entry-level territory, appropriate for casual systems rather than demanding hi-fi comparisons.

Connectivity is flexible for the price class. Wired output can be used through the built-in preamp or into a separate phono stage, while Bluetooth is useful where cable routing is awkward or headphones are preferred.

There are practical limits. The automatic size options cover 12-inch and 7-inch records, not a dedicated 10-inch setting, and the deck is not made for DJ use, scratching, back-cueing, 78 RPM discs or record stabilisers.

Based on the published design and specification, the AT-LP60XBT is best understood as a pleasant, accessible entry-level turntable rather than a high-resolution source. Its fixed conical stylus, integrated cartridge, built-in electronics and light chassis are all consistent with convenience-first playback.

The likely balance is easy-going and forgiving for casual listening, especially with powered speakers or a Bluetooth setup. It should be a clear step away from many all-in-one suitcase-style players, but it will not offer the detail retrieval, dynamics or upgrade potential of a more substantial adjustable deck.

Wired playback is the better route when sound quality and reliability matter most. Bluetooth is valuable for convenience, but it can introduce compression and depends on the codec and quality of the speaker, receiver or headphones being used.

The most meaningful sound improvement for many owners would be better speakers, careful placement and using the wired output where possible. Cartridge upgrades are not a normal route with this model because the cartridge is integrated.
