This turntable is all about marrying old-school vinyl charm with modern technological convenience. Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, the LP60XBT offers two modes of connectivity – wired and wireless. It boasts a fully automatic belt-drive turntable operation with two speeds, 331/3 and 45 RPM, a built-in switchable phono pre-amplifier, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Key Features and Functionality

The AT-LP60XBT stands out in the crowded market of vinyl turntables, largely thanks to a compelling roster of features carefully integrated into its design. From the outset, it is clear that Audio-Technica paid particular attention to the user experience, creating a turntable that is as user-friendly as it is high-performing. These features, which we’ll delve into now, aren’t simply about added convenience or cosmetic appeal. Instead, they collectively contribute to this turntable’s superior performance, flexibility, and versatility, ensuring that it caters to its users’ diverse needs and preferences.

One of the key features of the AT-LP60XBT is its Bluetooth connectivity. This isn’t merely a nod to modern wireless technology but a significant advantage for users who want to enjoy their vinyl records without wires. This seamless connection to Bluetooth speakers and headphones guarantees a wire-free listening experience, allowing users to move around without constraints. Whether you’re looking to dance to the beats of your favorite records or listen to soothing melodies as you work around the house, this feature ensures your music is always within earshot.

Another notable feature is the fully automatic belt-drive operation, which balances convenience and sound quality. This operation mode ensures consistent rotational speed, impacting the sound’s smoothness and fidelity. Furthermore, it reduces the chances of record wear, enhancing the longevity of your cherished vinyl collection. In addition, the AT-LP60XBT boasts a built-in switchable phono pre-amplifier, which means you can connect it directly to your speaker devices without needing an external amplifier. The improved tracking and reduced resonance, coupled with the new Qualcomm aptX codec, ensure better sound quality with minimal distortion, providing a listening experience as close to the original recording as possible.

Comparisons with Similar Products

In the turntable market, many brands seek to capture the attention of vinyl enthusiasts, including industry giants like Sony and Pioneer. While these companies offer commendable products, the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT distinguishes itself by merging old-school allure and cutting-edge functionalities. This delicate balance is something few competitors have been able to strike effectively. It’s versatility and user-friendly nature, attributable to key features such as automatic operation, a built-in preamp, and Bluetooth connectivity, set the AT-LP60XBT apart from its peers.

To illustrate this further, consider three comparable turntables: the Sony PS-LX310BT, the Pioneer PL-990, and the Crosley C6. When you compare them side-by-side, it’s clear that while each has its own strengths, the AT-LP60XBT stands tall.

Feature Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Sony PS-LX310BT Pioneer PL-990 Crosley C6
Connectivity Bluetooth Bluetooth Wired Wired
Operation Fully Automatic Fully Automatic Fully Automatic Manual
Preamp Built-in Built-in Built-in Not Built-in
Speeds 331/3, 45 RPM 331/3, 45 RPM 331/3, 45 RPM 331/3, 45 RPM
Material Plastic Aluminum Plastic Wood

While the Sony PS-LX310BT also offers Bluetooth connectivity and automatic operation, it’s constructed from aluminum, which might give it a more premium feel but could potentially introduce more vibrations. The Pioneer PL-990 shares a similar automatic operation and built-in preamp with the AT-LP60XBT, but it lacks Bluetooth functionality, limiting its versatility. The Crosley C6, on the other hand, offers a wooden build and manual operation, which some users might prefer for aesthetic and control reasons. Still, it lacks both Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in preamp. Thus, while each turntable has its merits, the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT offers a more well-rounded package that appeals to a broader user base.

User Experiences and Testimonials

Most online reviews reflect a positive experience with the AT-LP60XBT. Users love the quality of sound reproduction, ease of use, and excellent Bluetooth connectivity. Some users have mentioned the plastic build as a drawback, but this doesn’t seem to affect the overall performance or durability of the turntable.

Tips and Tricks

To extract the finest auditory experience from your Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT, coupling it with speakers or headphones of superior quality is highly recommended. The high-fidelity design of this turntable shines through when paired with sound devices that can articulate the full depth and richness of the vinyl sound. Whether you’re a fan of classic rock, jazz, or the latest pop hits, the right speakers or headphones will help you appreciate the details and nuances of your favorite records on the AT-LP60XBT.

In addition, an equally important aspect to consider is the placement of your turntable. The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT should be positioned on a flat and stable surface. This is crucial to prevent unwanted vibrations that can lead to distortion and affect the overall sound quality. Remember, the turntable needle is highly sensitive, and vibrations can disrupt its ability to properly track the grooves of your vinyl records. So, ensure you give your AT-LP60XBT a suitable home to guarantee the premium vinyl listening experience it was designed to deliver.

0 I cannot connect/pair with my Samsung sound bar (HW-J355) despite trying everything suggested? Can anyone help or advise on the reason for this? Maybe related to your question, I tried to connect to an LG system, it wasn’t great it did connect eventually, but wasn’t running in time with the turntable ; I gave up in the end & connected the turntable to my Alexa , which gives good sound without any issues .. good luck Steven H 14 July 2023
0 It says built in speakers? Really? Hi Mia, Thank you for your question. … see more Audio-Technica S. MANUFACTURER 27 June 2023
0 The top unit of my existing hi-fi separates measures 37cm wide and 27cm deep. Would I be able to stand this turntable on top of that? I don’t know sorry, but aren’t the measurements in the specification ? Jet hill 02 December 2019
0 Can you use it with Sonos 5 I don’t see why not. Activate the bluetooth receiver on the Sonos, hold it close to the front of the turntable and press the bluetooth button (bottom left corner on top of the turntable) for 2 seconds until the red light changes to blue. Connection should happen automatically. DR R E & MRS EMMA HOGAN 18 November 2022

Kindle Customer 5.0 out of 5 stars Just too easy to set up I just wanted a record player to play my old lps should I go expensive or something a bit cheaper I am so glad I decided cheaper this is perfect for playing my old records I can just sit back and listen to good quality music being fully automatic I just have to turn the record over press one button and it’s playing never missing the edge of the record it’s so easy to use it might only be what some people call a starter deck but don’t be fooled this a good machine for the price and the online tech reviews tend to agree. 2 February 2023 Yes
Steven H 5.0 out of 5 stars Back playing my old vinyl This is a great turntable , I am very impressed & happy with my purchase, I did take some time & looked at loads of Bluetooth turntables in the process, I spoke to stores for advice, prices varied a lot & that was a factor ; In the end I decided to take a chance on this one it didn’t break the bank and suits my needs perfectly. The Bluetooth is linked to my Alexa at the moment as I haven’t purchased a speaker , but to be honest the sound is that good on Alexa , I doubt I will bother purchasing a separate bluetooth speaker ( seems pointless) absolutely no issues connecting to Alexa at all it was pretty instant once they had paired . The beauty of this is the fact that there is no cables ( apart from plugging it into the wall for power ) it’s neat & tidy unlike the old days of cables everywhere. I doubt you will be disappointed, 6 October 2022 Yes

Conclusion

The Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT Full Automatic Wireless Belt-Drive Turntable combines vinyl’s nostalgic charm with modern technology’s convenience. Its easy-to-use design, quality sound, and Bluetooth functionality make it an excellent choice for beginners and experienced vinyl enthusiasts alike. While the plastic build may be a drawback to some, it doesn’t compromise the turntable’s performance. I highly recommend this turntable for anyone seeking a blend of vintage aesthetics and contemporary functionality.
